Game validation errors

Clear the most common game-specific blockers so your campaign can publish.

2 min read

Your campaign won't publish, and the message points at the game itself rather than at shared rewards, dates, or notifications. Work through the causes below to clear it.

Game issues usually appear under Touchpoints

When the blocker is about the game, it usually shows under Touchpoints. A shared reward, date, or notification can also block a game, but you fix those from the campaign side, covered in Validation & publishing.

Symptom

You select publish, and the campaign stays blocked. The message names a game setting, a missing prize, a missing image, or an empty option set.

Likely causes

A missing leaderboard reward doesn't block publishing

A skill game (Memory, Quiz, Catcher, or Form) can publish without a linked leaderboard reward — Studio flags it as a warning, not an error. Participants can still play the game normally, but you won't be able to declare any winners for it afterward. Attach a leaderboard reward before launch if you want winners; see Link rewards to a game.

When the blocker isn't about the game

If the message is really about rewards, notifications, dates, or publishing rules, move to the platform articles below instead of staying in the game configuration.
