Add badges and rewards to an event

See when an event should award a badge, link a reward, or use both.

Reward your attendees the right way: give a badge to mark attendance or progress, and add a reward when they should walk away with something of value. This page helps you decide which to use, and how each one reaches your event.

A badge works well across a workshop series, festival trail, or repeated brand activation. Set it up in the Activity's Gamification section so participants can see their progress over time.

A reward is what attendees actually receive. Use one when a checked-in attendee should get something tangible, such as a voucher after a VIP session, a gift after a kids activity, or entry into a later prize draw.

Badge for progress, reward for value

If the attendee should earn proof of attendance, start with a badge. If the attendee should receive something redeemable or valuable, add a reward.

Rewards reach an event through a Global Reward

The Activity has no place to attach a reward directly. Instead, create a Global Reward (a Lottery, Instant Win, or First Come, First Serve) and point it at this Activity from the reward's Reward Trigger using Pick Touchpoints. The attendee becomes eligible when they book or check in, depending on your trigger rule. For the full picture, see How rewards connect to touchpoints.

If publishing is blocked

  • A gamification badge is required but missing — open the Activity's Gamification section and attach the badge before publishing.
