Challenge rules overview
See how receipt-based progress conditions unlock winning options and rewards.
Challenge rules are the link between validated purchase behavior and reward outcomes. A rule watches the participant's receipt data and, when the condition is met, unlocks a specific winning option.
Validation copy may still say Challenge Rules
In validation messages you may see references to Challenge Rules. In the current builder UI, the section label is simply Rules.
How the chain works
What a rule contains in the current UI
Each rule currently includes:
Rule NameWinning OptionDescriptionConditionRepeatableCooldown Days
In the current builder version, the available condition type is Total Amount, which makes Transactions especially strong for spend-threshold challenges.
Example ladder
A receipt challenge can use several rules to create a reward ladder:
- spend
20 EURto unlock Reward A - spend
50 EURto unlock Reward B - make the first rule repeatable if the campaign allows the same reward to be earned again after a cooldown
Validation messages to watch
| Validation message | What it means |
|---|---|
Receipt game '{{touchpoint_name}}' has no challenge rules | No participant action can unlock any reward yet. |
Receipt game '{{touchpoint_name}}' rule '{{rule_id}}' is missing a winning option ID | The rule exists, but it is not connected to any reward path. |
Receipt game '{{touchpoint_name}}' rule '{{rule_id}}' is missing a condition | The rule has no actual unlock logic yet. |
Recommendation
Start with one clear rule and one winning option before you add a more advanced ladder. That makes testing much easier and avoids unclear reward behavior.
