Challenge rules overview
See how receipt-based progress conditions unlock winning options and rewards.
Use challenge rules to decide which Reward a shopper unlocks based on what they spent. For example: spend 20 EUR to win Reward A, or spend 50 EUR to win Reward B. Each rule watches the shopper's receipt data and unlocks a Reward when its condition is met.
Find this under Rules
In the builder, this is the section labelled Rules.
How a reward unlocks
Once a receipt is validated, OmniLab checks it against each rule. When a rule's condition is met, it unlocks the linked winning option, which delivers the matching Reward to the shopper.
What a rule contains
Each rule includes:
- Rule Name — a label so you can tell rules apart.
- Winning Option — the reward path this rule unlocks.
- Description — an internal note about what the rule does.
- Condition — what the shopper must spend for the rule to fire.
- Repeatable — whether the same shopper can win this rule more than once.
- Cooldown Days — how long a repeatable rule waits before it can be won again.
The condition is based on spend (Total Amount), which makes OmniLab Transactions a strong fit for spend-threshold challenges.
Example ladder
You can stack several rules to build a reward ladder:
- spend 20 EUR to unlock Reward A
- spend 50 EUR to unlock Reward B
- turn on Repeatable for the first rule if the campaign lets the same Reward be earned again after a cooldown
If a rule never unlocks a reward
A few common reasons and how to fix them:
- No rules exist yet — the receipt challenge has no rules, so nothing can unlock. Add at least one rule before testing.
- The rule has no reward path — the rule exists but no winning option is attached. Open the rule and choose a winning option.
- The rule has no condition — the rule does not know when to fire. Add a spend threshold under the rule's condition.
Recommendation
Start with one clear rule and one winning option before you build a longer ladder. It makes testing simpler and keeps reward behavior predictable.
