In this article, you'll run the Scanner App from a phone or tablet, move quickly between the four day-of options, and know when to switch from scanning to a staffed fallback.
Before you start
- Open the
Scanner URLon a smartphone or tablet. The Scanner App is a web app, so there is nothing to install. - Enter the shared campaign-level password, then select the Activity you are managing.
- If the device asks for camera access, allow it before you open
Scan QR Code. - If more than one camera is listed, choose the best rear camera.
5-step day-of flow
Open the activity action screen
After password entry and Activity selection, the action screen gives you four day-of options: Scan QR Code, Find by Email, Find by Slot, and Slots Availability.

Choose Scan QR Code and select the camera
Tap Scan QR Code. If the device lists several cameras, choose the rear camera. The app remembers the last camera used on that device.
Scan the attendee's ticket
Hold the ticket steady inside the scanner frame until the app reads the QR code. If the attendee is showing the ticket on a phone, ask them to increase screen brightness before you retry.
Read the result before you admit the attendee
Check-In Successful is green. Early Check-In Detected and Late Check-In Detected are orange. Already-used, blocked, or unreadable cases need another action before you let the attendee through.

Switch to the staffed fallback that matches the situation
Use Find by Email when the attendee cannot show a working QR code. Use Find by Slot when they know the session time but not the ticket details. Use Slots Availability when a manager needs a live view of capacity and check-in progression.
Which option to use
| Need | Best option | What staff should do |
|---|---|---|
| The attendee has the ticket ready. | Scan QR Code | Scan the QR code and act on the result screen. |
| The attendee lost the ticket email or the QR code will not scan. | Find by Email | Search by email, pick the correct confirmed booking, then confirm check-in manually. |
| The attendee only knows the time of the Activity. | Find by Slot | Open the slot, search the list, and check in the confirmed booking from there. |
| A manager wants a live view of capacity and check-in progress. | Slots Availability | Choose the ticket type, then review slot availability and per-slot progression. |
Existing bookings only
The supported staffed fallback is manual check-in for an existing booking. If someone still needs a brand-new booking, use your normal booking flow outside the Scanner App.
What Slots Availability is for
Slots Availability is the manager view. Choose a ticket type first, then review which slots still have capacity and how check-in is progressing for each slot.
