Use the Scanner App on the day

Check guests in from a phone or tablet, and switch to a manual lookup when a code won't scan.

Check guests in fast from a phone or tablet, move between the scanner's four options, and know when to swap scanning for a manual lookup.

Before you begin

  • Open the Scanner URL on a smartphone or tablet. The Scanner App runs in a browser, so there's nothing to install.
  • Enter the shared campaign password, then select the Activity you're running.
  • Allow camera access if the device asks, before you open Scan QR Code.
  • If the device lists more than one camera, choose the rear camera.

Check guests in

Open the activity action screen

After you enter the password and select the Activity, the action screen offers four options: Scan QR Code, Find by Email, Find by Slot, and Slots Availability.

Choose Scan QR Code and pick the camera

Tap Scan QR Code. If the device lists several cameras, choose the rear camera. The app remembers the last camera used on that device.

Scan the guest's ticket

Hold the ticket steady inside the scanner frame until the app reads the QR code. If the guest shows the ticket on a phone, ask them to raise screen brightness before you try again.

Read the result before you admit the guest

Check-In Successful shows green. Early Check-In Detected and Late Check-In Detected show orange. A used, blocked, or unreadable ticket needs another action before you let the guest through.

Switch to a manual lookup when scanning won't work

Use Find by Email when the guest can't show a working QR code. Use Find by Slot when they know the session time but not their ticket details. Use Slots Availability when a manager wants a live view of capacity and check-in progress.

When in doubt, start with Scan QR Code. Switch to Find by Email the moment a code won't scan.

Existing bookings only

Manual lookup checks in a booking that already exists. If someone needs a brand-new booking, create it through your normal booking process, outside the Scanner App.

What Slots Availability shows

Slots Availability is the manager view. Choose a ticket type first, then see which slots still have room and how check-in is going for each one.
