Configure location rules

Use zip-code rules when a receipt challenge is limited to specific stores or areas.

Use location rules to limit a receipt challenge to specific stores or areas. They help when the same retailer has some locations that qualify and others that do not. You set them through the Zip Code field requirement.

Set the zip-code rules

Open the policy

Go to Configuration then Receipt Acceptance Policy.

Turn on Zip Code

Switch on Zip Code under Field Requirements.

List the locations that qualify

Fill in Allowed Zip Codes when only some locations should count.

Block specific areas

Fill in Restricted Zip Codes when you need to exclude known store areas.

You can match a group of zip codes with a wildcard. For example, 902* matches every zip code that starts with 902.

When to use location rules

Use zip-code rules when:

  • the campaign runs only in one mall, city district, or trade area
  • a partner retailer has many branches but only some qualify
  • the retailer name alone does not prove the receipt came from an eligible location

If eligible receipts are being blocked

A few common reasons and how to fix them:

  • A zip code is in both lists — a zip code cannot be both allowed and blocked. Remove it from one list.

Example

A shopping-center campaign might allow 75001 and 75002, while excluding 75008 because that branch sits outside the activation zone.
