Configure location rules

Use zip-code rules when a receipt challenge is limited to specific stores or areas.

In the current receipt-game builder, location rules are configured through the Zip Code field requirement. This is useful when the same merchant brand has both eligible and ineligible store locations.

Configure zip-code rules

  1. Open Configuration -> Receipt Acceptance Policy.
  2. Turn on Zip Code in Field Requirements.
  3. Fill Allowed Zip Codes when only some locations should count.
  4. Fill Restricted Zip Codes when you need to exclude known store areas.

The current UI also supports wildcard matching with *. For example, 902* can match several zip codes that share the same prefix.

When to use location rules

Use zip rules when:

  • the campaign is valid only in one mall, city district, or trade area
  • partner merchants have many branches but only some are eligible
  • the merchant name alone is not enough to prove location eligibility

Validation messages to watch

Validation messageWhat it means
Receipt game '{{touchpoint_name}}' has conflicting zip code ({{conflicting_value}}) in both allowed and restricted listsThe same zip code appears in both lists.

The broader validation layer also contains guidance for city and state list conflicts, but in the current receipt-game touchpoint screen the location controls exposed directly are zip-code based.

Example

A shopping-center campaign might allow 75001 and 75002, while excluding 75008 because that branch sits outside the activation zone.
